Originally designed to protect surfers from chafing against their boards, a rash guard is a versatile, long-sleeve performance shirt used for water sports like kayaking, SUP, kiting, and sailing. Today, they are essential for anyone seeking high-level sun protection while on the water.
What is the difference between a rash guard and a swimsuit?
A rash guard is generally considered a top (available in long or short sleeves) designed for protection and activity. A traditional swimsuit is often a one-piece or bikini specifically for swimming. However, many people wear a rash guard over their swimsuit for added UV shielding.
What should I wear under a rash guard for women?
Most of our customers prefer wearing a sports bra or a bikini top underneath their rash guard for women. This provides the best support and comfort during active water sports.
Do you sell specific rash guards for men and women?
Yes. While the fabric technology is the same, the cuts differ. Our rash guard for men features a broader shoulder cut, while our rash guard for women is tailored with a stylish Cheongsam collar and a fit that accommodates female curves.
Does a rash guard keep you warm?
Our specific rash guard fabric is designed to be lightweight, breathable, and cooling for hot climates. While it provides a layer against the wind, it is not a thermal wetsuit. However, the moisture-wicking properties make it excellent for running or cycling in cooler weather.
What color should a rash guard be?
You can choose any color! Because we use high-quality digital sublimation printing, the design won't crack or fade, whether you choose a vibrant pattern or a solid tone.

How do I wash my rash guard?
To maximize longevity, machine wash your rash guard on a cold to warm setting. Important: Do not use fabric softener, as it can block the moisture-wicking capabilities of the fabric.
Does the UV protection wash out over time?
Our gear is rated UPF 50+, blocking ~99% of UV rays. Over a long period of heavy use and washing, this might reduce slightly to roughly 94% (UPF 30-40 range), which still offers excellent protection.
Can I use this rash guard in a swimming pool?
Yes, our rash guards are great for pool swimming. Just be sure to rinse the shirt with fresh water immediately after getting out of the pool to remove chlorine residue.

Does this item run true to size?
Our items run tight/fitted by design. A proper rash guard fit should be body-hugging to reduce drag in the water and prevent the shirt from riding up. If you prefer a looser, "t-shirt" style fit, we recommend sizing up.

Do you carry petite, tall, or plus sizes?
Currently, we offer standard sizing. However, our sleeves are designed slightly longer than average to ensure your wrists are covered and protected from the sun.
Will the rash guard ride up while paddling?
No. We have engineered the sleeves to be tighter on the lower arms to keep them in place. The body-hugging fit ensures the shirt stays down, even during intense activity like surfing or paddling.

Shipping costs depend on your location, but we offer Free Worldwide Shipping on all orders over $150 USD.
